Invent It. Build It. is a hands-on engineering experience for middle school girls with a parallel program for parents and educators. The event takes place annually at the Society of Women Engineers Conference. Locations vary each year.
Watch our video to get a sense of what the day looks like.
The girls will work with members of the Society of Women Engineers from around the world on Design Squad Nation activities. Everyone will leave with an understanding of what engineers do and how they make a world of difference.
The adults will have a chance to network, participate in a panel discussion with SWE members, and outreach experts, and do a hands-on activity of their own.
Both groups will have the opportunity to visit exhibitors like FIRST, Girl Scouts, SciGirls, WGBH, SWE, and others at our Invent It. Build It. Expo. This year the Invent It. Build It. Expo will also be open to SWE members and the general public. Exhibitors interested in applying for space at the expo should submit their applications by July 12, 2013 at www.surveymonkey.com/s/inventexpo.
SWE members interested in volunteering should check the box to volunteer at Invent It. Build It. on your conference registration.
