General Resources

  • The National Girls Collaborative Project – NGCP is designed to reach girl-serving STEM organizations across the United States and Puerto Rico.

  • Great Science for Girls – Extension Services for Gender Equity in Science through After School Programs (GSG) works to build the capacity of after-school centers to deliver evidence-based programming that will broaden and sustain girls' interest and persistence in STEM (science, technology, engineering and mathematics).

  • The Coalition for Science After School is a strategic alliance among individuals and organizations from STEM education, youth development, and out-of-school time programs. The Coalition's mission is to coordinate and mobilize community stakeholders to strengthen and expand opportunities for young people to do and learn science in after-school settings.

  • The Wallace Foundation disseminates information on using public and private resources effectively to develop and sustain high-quality out-of-school learning programs.

K-5

Middle School

  • Intel® Innovation in Education Design and Discovery is an academic enrichment opportunity that engages students in hands-on engineering and design activities intended to foster knowledge, skill development and problem solving in the areas of science and engineering. Design and Discovery includes a complete, downloadable and reproducible curriculum as well as related resource materials and an implementation guide. Design and Discovery is most appropriate for informal education settings ages 11-15 with extended blocks of time.

  • The Math Explorer program is a collection of hands-on mathematics games and activities designed to engage middle school youth in standards-based mathematics learning while supporting the unique needs of after-school staff.

  • Techbridge is an after-school and summer program designed to encourage girls in technology, science and engineering.
